About me

My journey through sport

Sport has been part of my life since I was around 13. Every stage has taught me something different about movement, performance, discipline, resilience and confidence, and all of it sits at the heart of Vitalfitness.

Teenage years

Volleyball & handball

My sporting journey began with volleyball, and later handball as a goalkeeper.

Team sports introduced me to coordination, agility, speed, reaction and the importance of believing in your own abilities. They also showed me how enjoyable movement becomes when it involves challenge, play and being part of a team.

Challenge & resilience

Climbing

I completed a climbing course and had the chance to climb in real mountain environments, well outside my comfort zone.

Climbing gave me a completely different perspective on physical activity: strength and movement combined with concentration, problem-solving and confidence.

Endurance & adventure

Cycling

Cycling became a major part of my life for years. I took part in London to Brighton and L’Étape, along with smaller events across London.

It taught me endurance, consistency and perseverance, and that you can usually achieve more than you first think possible.

A new challenge

Running

From cycling I moved into running, building cardiovascular fitness and finding another way to challenge myself.

Running reinforced consistency, patience and setting personal goals. Progress does not always come quickly, but every step counts.

Power & technique

Strength & weight training

My journey then developed into strength training and weightlifting.

I became increasingly interested in how strength, power, mobility and technique improve physical performance, not only in the gym, but across sport and everyday movement. More recently I started blending agility and mobility work into my own training, and that is where the idea for children's sessions came from.

Continuing to learn

Learning never really stops

My practical experience has always been matched by a desire to keep studying, especially when it comes to understanding movement, physical development, and how to help others enjoy being active.

From my journey to Vitalfitness

I want children to experience the same sense of discovery that sport has given me: learning what their bodies can do, developing new skills, challenging themselves and enjoying being active.

Not every child will become an athlete, and they don’t need to. But every child deserves the opportunity to move, explore and discover what they are capable of.

Training children to be the best version of themselves.
